Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

One of my husband's two daughters is moving in with us permanetly. Her mother agrees, there is no fighting for custody. The original divorce papers state her mother has custody of her, and we are paying child support for her. How would we go about changing the custody agreement and the child support amount?

You'd file a motion for modification, and both mother and father would be shown as petitioners. You'd prepare an agreed order. After you file the motion, you have a hearing where mother and father appear and state that the agreement is in the child's best interest. Then you present the agreed order to the judge.
