Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

IIn the process of starting a divorce. I have just found out after 7 years of buying a home that my name is not on the mortgage. We purchased the house together, my husband started a business while we were married. He does not want the house anymore and doesn't want me to touch his business. We have 3 under age children together. What legal rights do i have?

You have the right to 50% (more or less) of the community property. Whose name is on a mortgage is not the bottom line; it's more complicated than that.

The business that was started during the marriage is probably community property, but there are some more questions. Does the business own any equipment or real estate? Is it a partnership?

As for the children, the typical setup is that they live with one parent, and the other parent pays child support which is calculated based on his income.

You need to talk this over with a lawyer.
