Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

is it illegal to be married to 2 people in Texas? I carried my ex live in boyfriend on my heath insurance and when we split up dropped him. A few years later I married and added my husband. When we split up I dropped him. My insurance company dropped my health coverage because they said I never divorced my 1st boyfriend>

Yes, it is illegal to be married to two people at the same time.

This happens a lot. When you added your b.f., you entered into a common law marriage in Texas.

You might want to talk to a divorce attorney in your county, because after being separated 2 years in TX a common law marraige is presumed "over".

Your insurance company does not understand TX law.

Good luck!
