illigetimate child custody

my daughter has a newborn, her and father are not married, he is not on birth certificate. they have both verbally acknowledged paternity, does hi have visitation rights? can she get sole custody?

Until there is a court order, they can agree on whatever arrangement works for them.

If they are amicable, and agree on visitation and support issues, the legal fees will be FAR less. If they disagree, the fees will increase accordingly.

As the biological father, he has rights, but will need to assert them.

Your daughter needs to hire a lawyer.

Sole custody is often a misunderstood phrase. The courts generally make the parents Joint Managing Conservators, and one of the primary conservator, and the other parent has support obligations and visitation rights.
