Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Is it impossible to get the adoption records opened from 1945: they were sealed by the court? I need medical information and next of kin.

Not any more. If you are over 18, which you are if you were born in 1945, then you just pay a small fee (around $25) and fill out a form.

The Texas Legislature opened up these files several years ago. There was a lot of press on the news when it happened.

I can't remember how I opened my adoption records. I found the form on the State of Texas website.

I suggest "goggling" TX Open Adoption records act?

Hope this helps!

PS - I hired a pi to help me and I was very glad I did. Lots of lies regarding medical info. was given to me. I recommend that you find an impartial person to help. Finding my birth family was NOT a pleasant experience. It was soooo bad that my adopted sister decided NOT to try to open hers!

Good luck!

If you want to meet and talk I charge $1 per minute to do so.
