Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Increase in Child Support After Remarriage
I have been divorced for 3 1/2 years and my ex-husband remarried last July. He has also since changed jobs and I know that he recieved a substantial increase due the change in their lifestyle. In the state of Texas, do they consider both incomes now that they are married if I request an increase in child support due to the increased costs of having teenaged children?

Re: Increase in Child Support After Remarriage
Child support is based on the net resources of the payor. If your husband's income has increased, you may be able to get the child support increased. It is harder to get child support increased because your costs have gone up.
