Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Best interest of the child

My ex has supervised visitation with our 13 mo. old daughter until Sep. 2009 then is able to take her for day trips. He has not seen her in over a month and the last couple visits were tramatic. Should I get an ammendment to extend the supervised visitation until he shows stability with the visits. I don't want to force my baby to go with a stranger even if it's her father.

Re: Best interest of the child

Your question is not capable of an easy answer from the facts which you have provided. Are there other children? What can you testify as to how he has created tramatic visits? How will a judge, and which one, feel about what your ex has done? What was his visitation history before the problems developed? I would be glad to visit with you concerning these matters if you will contact me and schedule an appointment. The child is still very young and it may depend upon which Court has jurisdiction to hear the matter. I am a board certified specialist in the field of family law, practicing in the Houston area.
