International baby
My husband and I are being offered a free baby in Venezuela. The mother has 3 children and can not afford another--name removed-- What steps do we need to take in order to legally adopt the baby and bring it to the US? This is not being done through an adoption agency.

You have several issues to address. First you must secure legal family law adoption procedures, including termination of parental rights of the biological parents, both in Venezuela and in the United States.
Further, you must satisfy immigration authorities to secure proper entry, and residency of the baby.
You need to retain the services of an immigration attorney, who is well-versed in family law matters.
