Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

intestate death

My uncle died in Texas without a will. He has one living sister. His brother, my father, is deceased. Who are his heirs? Just my aunt or are my sisters and I also considered heirs to his estate?

Re: intestate death

If a person dies with no living spouse, descendants or parents, then the entire estate passes to siblings and their descendants. A sibling must survive the decedent in order to inherit. You and your sisters would have been able to inherit only if your uncle did not have a surviving sibling.
