Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

OK So my parents have been divorced since I was little. I'm seven-teen now and I want to move in with my mom. I know that in the state of Texas I am trialed as an adult and if I wanted to I can leave my house and my parent can't call the cops on me but my question is, If the court papers my dad has say that the custody he has over me is binding till I turn eight-teen or until I graduate does this mean I can't just walk out of the house and stay at my mom's house and my dad can't do anything about it? Please say you can answer this question because I'm wanting to do this very soon as in the next week so please get back to me.

It means that there is an enforceable court order that gives your father the right to determine your residence until you are 18/graduation. If your parents choose to go back to court and modify that order, then they can submit an agreed order, or allow the judge to decide where you will live until then.

In Texas, for criminal purposes you are an adult at 17. For civil purposes, you are an adult at 18.

You can do whatever you want the moment you turn 18.

Normally the cops don't get involved with 17 yr. olds that leave home.

I would suggest that you call your local sheriff, constable and police and see what their policies are regarding 17 yr. olds leaving home.
