Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Job Corps in TX and Child Support.

My son will turn 18 next month and is also attending Gary Job Corps. As we all know the Job Corps provides all expenses paid so the enrollee can take advantage of what they have to offer. In this case my son; he lives there, eats there, gets a monthly salary of a few dollars also.

My court order from Tx also says it will end when the child turns 18 or finishes High School or a combination of an accredited school w/college credits....or somthing to that effect, whichever comes later. Will I still be liable to pay child support eventhough the Job corps provides an online class program from an accredited college for my child to enroll and take online classes?

The terms of your order govern your obligation. Generally orders state that the obligation ends when the child turns 18 or graduates high school, whichever is later. Your order may have a savings clause regarding early college enrollment. Consult with an attorney, to review your decree, to determine when the obligation will end, under these circumstances.
