Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
joint accounts
I am going to separate from my wife, but all of our bank accounts are together. If while in the process of separation I get an account on my name and I put money in it, will she be legally allowed to have that money as well?

Re: joint accounts
Money acquired (except by gift or inheritance) during the course of the marriage is community property. The marriage continues until the divorce is final. It is not unusual to separate some assets during the separation, but they are still assets of the marriage. Hiding assets will get you into trouble. Consult with a lawyer before you separate to assist you in preparing.
