Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Joint Custody

My ex and I have joint custody over our two boys. Ages 9 And 12. Evil ex wants to move them almost 300 miles away. Can he do that legally? There are no geographical limitations set out in the divorce decree. Neither of the boys want to move. The twelve year old can decide for him self, can't he?

Re: Joint Custody

Taking the children 300 miles away is not joint custody. You better file a motion to modify right away. See a lawyer ASAP. He would probably be in violation of the order to take them 300 miles away, but you better protect yourself and your children.

Good Luck.
