Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How could I go about getting joint custody of my daughter? I live in Red Oak, Texas and the mother lives in San Marcos, Texas. It seems the only way I'm able to see my daughter is if I drive way down there. She refuses to drive here to bring the baby to see my side of the family. Even my father that wishes to see his grandbaby. He can't leave the city and is terminally ill. Help
