Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have joint custody and the mother of my daughter is the primary parent. My visitation days are legally defined and agreed upon. I also pay child support. If I have a scheduling conflict and cannot pick her up, am I obligated to pay for a baby sitter if she claims she needed to get one.

Read your court order. I'll bet you $50 it says NOTHING about anybody paying a babysitter.

The flip side of this is: If you don't show up at 6:00 pm on Friday, Mom doesn't have to surrender the child. She can simply say, "It's 7:00 pm. I am NOT under a court order to surrender the child at 7:00 pm." In other words, she is not required to be flexible.
