Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Is Joint Custody permitted in Honduras?
I have a divorce decree prepared by a lawyer here in the states that will be signed by the other party in Honduras. It states that there will be joint custody of the son. Later I was informed at the Consulate of Honduras in Dallas Texas that Joint Custody was not permitted in Honduras. Is the contract drawn up by the attorney her then invalid?
Thank you

Re: Is Joint Custody permitted in Honduras?
Get a lawyer IMMEDIATELY, if you have one (as you said) talk to him about:
1. NO JOINT CUSTODY accross international boundaries, and
2. The Hague Convention.
If the child goes to Honduras and the other parent refuses to return him/her the expense in incalcuable, not to mention the heartache.
DOL NOT GO CHEAP ON THIS.
