joint custody... 15 yr old girl ... hit by father, no longer wishes to visit him ...wants to live solely with mother... does the mother need the attorney or does the child need the representation

Children are not parties in custody cases; only the parents. If you need to change the custody arrangements you should get an attorney immediately. While I understand why you are not going to want to make her go see he father, without a court order to justify your actions you could end up going to jail for violating the visitation orders.
