Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Keeping the children from te other parent
I am the father of two children, 7 and 4 years old. The mother walked out 3 years ago. here in the past yaer she has been trying to get back in contact with the children. i will not give her my address or phone number because yaers ago, before we split up this last time, we seperated and she took my child while i was at work and left with the intention of not bringing her back. by giving her my address or phone number she could locate me and do it again. am i wrong for not giving her my address or phone number. also, after her being gone for 3 years would i really have to prove her unfit to keep my kids or should the time being gome be enough.

Re: Keeping the children from te other parent
You really do need to get the court involved in this case. An attorney can prepare and obtain a restraining order, followed by a hearing for temporary orders. Her abandonment of the children for such a long time, as well as her previous conduct in taking one of the children will be very difficult for her to overcome at a hearing. It is not automatic that the court will rule in your favor, however, an attorney can review your situation and advise you of the likelihood of success. TCL
