In my opinion, this is a tough one - since you have tried to resolve this outside of the courtroom, it appears necessary to let a judge handle it, through a petition for modification of the visitation arrangements. Although head lice is easily contagious from school, etc, it is also true that the home environment has to be completely cleaned (through heat or chemicals) to eliminate the lice and the eggs. You will probably need a social study and testimony from a health professional. It could become costly, but from what you describe, it appears to be your only solution. If you believe she would cooperate (or if your decree requires it) try handling this problem through mediation first. It seems a shame to spend so much money on a problem that should be easily corrected. (You will need to document the children's statements, and the incidences of recurrence). Good luck.
