Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Can I take my kids on vaction on a crusie?

My ex refuses to sign a letter allowing me to take my kids on vacation to Mexico? We have joint custody and I am the managing conservator. I also have sole right to obtain passport. Can I qet a passport w/o his consent? Can I travel outside of US w/o his consent? I do not see any restrictions listed in my standard decree. Thanks! Mom just wants the freedow to enjoy life with kids w/o ex maintaining control.

Why did you ask him to sign a letter in the first place? If the decree does not require his permission, then it's not necessary. If passport application requires it, then you will have to go to court to get it. Make sure all communication with him is by certified mail. Maybe you can get your attorneys fees charged against him. That doesn't mean he will pay them, but it would be another nail in his coffin.
