Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
(LANDO) is married to this lady (LACY). [They are still legally married.] They lived in MA and had a home (with a mortgage), and financial stability. For unknown reasons Lacy moved with her kids back to their home state of TX. Lacy took the kids away from Lando, financial stability and their own home. For the first year and a half of being back in TX Lacy would drop the three kids off at Landos mothers house for extended periods of time (over a week at a time). Lacy did and still does not particularly care for her mother (LARA), and therefore would never leave the children with Lara. Finally Lacy dropped the kids off at Landos mothers house for "good." Lando then moved from MA to TX to take care of his children. He left his job and the family home was foreclosed on. Lando would actually let Laura see the kids at least biweekly. After about 9 or so months of this, Lacy comes back into the picture. While the older daughter was at a sleep over with friends Lacy took her from the party and Lando has not been able to see his children since. This has been going on for almost 9 months. Lacy presents unstable characteristics, and this is why the children live with Lara, because Lacy cannot take care of them (financially or mentally). Lara is also being very uncooperative and deceitful in this situation. Lando has been looking for work all this time and just got a good job (less than a week ago). What can Lando do to make sure that he and his family are able to consistently see his children without Lacy interfering? Attorneys are expensive, and the family just doesnt have that kind of money. When Lando once tried to get free legal aide, they said he made too much money at his job in MA to qualify for services. What can Lando do?

It sounds as if venue would be here in Texas.
Lando can't fix this without hiring a lawyer. "The reason lawyers are so expensive is that they're worth it."
He needs to file for divorce (what is he waiting for?) and ask for temporary custody and for full custody of the children. He needs to tell this story to a judge.
