Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
lawyer quit
My lawyer quit in the middle of a hearing leaving me with no representation, with another hearing in two weeks. He didn't even ask for a court reporter as we proceeded. I had to! Please advice. In a desperate situation, not sure how he'll screw me now and how to watch what I sign. Thanks.

Re: lawyer quit
Your lawyer can't just quit. Once he has appeared for you, he has to request permission from the court to quit, otherwise he is still obliged to represent you until he receives permission to withdraw. However, you should find a new lawyer as soon as possible.
