Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Want my lawyer to work for me
I have been divorced for a couple of years & my ex recently remarried. She had a problem with the amount of child support he pays and encouraged him to take me to court for custody. He had no grounds to that so they sued me to take a hair follicle test & have my child evaluated for signs of brainwashing. We have complied with his wishes and on the advice of my lawyer we have requested that support be raised to the legal 20%. Since then my daughter has been mentally & verbally abused by her stepmother on every visit. My daughter is 10 & refuses to stay alone with her. No one I have talked to can blame her. I feel my lawyer is dragging his feet on this and will not provide me with resources to protect my child. He says I should force her to visit as long as there is no physical violence. Where can I get advice on what my lawyer is doing & possibly an organization that can help me with solutions for her. CPS made me file a report and then stated they would not open a case because she does not live there & the violence is not physical. They told me as has everyone it is my lawyers job to protect her.

I stress to you to communicate and work with your attorney or fire him/her and hire another.
