Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Can I leave home at 17. I have three months left till I'm 18 but I really want to leave home. I'm going to stay in school and the family I will be staying with said they will help pay for things. I don't want to get in trouble for leaving or have the family I will stay with get in trouble

My suggestion is that you wait three months. Spend that time setting everything up, finding a place to live, a job etc.

While you are almost an adult, you are not yet an adult and your parents have the right and duty to provide for your care. Running away to live with another family could cause them problems.

Unless there is a legal need for you to leave, such as abuse, it is best that you wait.
