can i leave my home if my parents have joint custody and i have permission from one parent? my child and i live with my mother, but shes mentaly abusive, shes layed her hands on me a few times also. i need to get out of her house for the saftey of my child and myself.

They do not have joint custody in the sense that both decide where you live. One is designated at the person who decides where you live and that person is the one whose permission you need.

She has the right to "lay hands on you" if she is acting as a parent and punishing you but there is a limit. If she is abusing you, call the police on her and have assault charges filed.
