Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Left my husband since 98 never filed a legal separation but want a divorce and he tells me he will never give it to me .. what can I do

You do not need his permission to get a divorce. You can file for divorce, serve him, set the matter for trial, and just finish it. He can resist all he wants, but in the United States, no one has to be married if they don't want to be.

If there are no children under the age of 18 between the two of you and no property of consequence, you can wrap this up quickly.

I would suggest that you at least consult with a good family law attorney in your area. The consultation might cost you $200-$300, but it will be a good investment because you will walk out knowing exactly what your rights are, where the risks are, and you'll have a solid game plan. Some attorneys, such as me, will not charge the consultation fee if you hire them that day.
