Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

legal adult

I would like to know if it is possible to become a legal adult at the age of 16, under circumstances for example, unfit living conditions? And what would be the aftermath followin the legalization of the 16 year old? And if it is possible what would I have to do in order to become the legal adult?

Re: legal adult

I will again try to post this response...

Emancipation is the magic word and it is found in the Family Code which is part of the Texas Statutes which are linked on the links page of my web site http://www.reasonable-doubt.com It won't allow you to buy beer or a pistol, but it is a procedure allowed by law under certain circumstances. If you are a victim of abuse or neglect, there is the children's protective services and there are links to that department on my web site as well. If you are so unhappy as to be asking this question, you might wish to discuss your feelings with your parents or a school counselor.

good luck
