Legal age for children to take actions

A child is responsible for criminal actions in the adult system at age 17, without any waiver by the juvenile court. They may execute contracts at 18. Drinking takes longer. At 17, you won't be able to get the police to bring them home, but until they are 18, anyone who harbors them when they are absent from your home without your permission may be jailed.
