Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

legal custody

HI I am looking some answers for my nephew who has a one year old daughter that the mother has left in the care of not a family member of my nephew or the mother. My nephew finally got a visit from the baby, the babymother's sister dropped her off to him on sunday i noticed that something was wrong with her arm so he took her to the emergency room and had an exam and x-ray done. Turns out her arm is sprung. So we want to begin the correct steps to getting sole custody of the baby. the babymother has left the baby since sept with her boyfriends mother.

Re: legal custody

Some of your posting is confusing. If the child was harmed, contact the local police. Your nephew needs to file a Suit Affecting Parent-Child Relationship, establish his paternity, and obtain conservatorship of the child. These are involved proceedings that are outside the scope of DIY. Talk to a lawyer in your area for more guidance and representation.
