Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

i have legal custody of my child but my ex has taken her with out my permission to another state and enrolled her in a prek school program , im in texas shes in new mexico there are 11 schools in that district am i allowed to call and ask if my child is enrolled in their school or not?and if not what then?

I assume from your question that you have a current order and that it is from a Texas court. I also assume that by "legal custody" you mean that you have the right make decisions concerning residence and education. My answer might not apply if these assumptions are not true.

You can file to enforce the current order. Also, if your order is typical, it gives both parents the right to communicate with school officials about the child. You should talk to a good family law attorney if you want to protect your rights concerning your child.
