Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Legal percent to ex

In Houston, TX,what is the legal percent of my income that my ex-wife has a right to receive for child support and is she eligible for alimony, since I gave up all rights to home & property since her income is $4000/month?

Re: Legal percent to ex

Child support in Texas is 20% for one child, 25% for two children, etc. based on your income. You would also be responsible for their health insurance coverage or reimbursing your wife.

You really need to talk to an attorney to go over the details of your particular case.

You can read the Texas Family Code to learn more. You can link the TX Family Code through my website at www.familylaw4u.com or go to any search engine and type in Texas Family Code.

Alimony is also available in limited situations in Texas. One way is the number of years you have been married.

I don't understand how you could give up all rights to property and home.

I would recommend a consultation with an attorney.

Our office charges $200 for a one time one-hour consultation.

One of the attorneys in the office would be glad to meet with you. Just call 713-847-6000 for an appointment.

Good luck!
