Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

legal question

I was divorced two years ago. I did not know that ''giving'' the house to my ex, that I was still on the mortgage at the bank. How do I get my name off of the mortgage?

Only the mortgage company can take your name off the note.

You can talk to them. I doubt they will take you off the note.

Or your husband can re-finance the house in his name.

I warn people of this problem but many people want qa divorce and ignore this issue. It comes back to haunt them years later.
