Legal Rights to a car

Whar rights do I have to a car if my boyfriend has been in jail but i have been using the car and paying the car notes the last year but when i tell him that i have found someone else to be with and out of no where w/o telling me he contacts the financial company while still in jail and has his name removed and a priv investigator contacts me and tells me this info stating i have to let them come get the car otherwise charges will be filed

You have no right to the car. It belongs to your incarcerated boyfriend. He arranged a voluntary repo, because you found another boyfriend. Paying the note was similar to paying rent. It did not give you ownership rights.
