Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Legal Stepfather Question

Situation:

A woman has a child by a man number 1, that she never marries or lives with nor does he have any custodial rights. However, he does pay child support as required by thelaw.

She has another child with a man number 2 (a different man than above), and they now live together unamarried.

Question: Is the first child she had with man number 1 legally the ''step child'' of the current man (number 2). Does she have to disclose or provide any information, such as financial, education, etc., concerning the current man (number 2)when she is dealing with her first child which is not his, but they all live together.

Exactly what is his legal hold on the first child at this point since they aren't married and the child is not his, and since the child receives child support from his real father.

Thanks,

Cal Lambert
