Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How do I get legal help?

Should worst come to worst, I'll need legal counsel at the divorce to protect my rights. I can't afford legal counsel because I gave up my career to support my wife's schooling and career dreams. I'm jobless and broke.

How do I go about getting legal counsel to protect my rights when I'm in a financial position like this?

As of right now, my wife ''says'' she doesn't want me paying child support. Forgive me for not trusting her. I don't want to walk into the divorce court blindly trusting her to keep her word (as I have for the last 10 years) and then have her lawyer walk all over me.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: How do I get legal help?

If you have no money and your wife controls all the money, she can be ordered to pay your legal fees.

I highly recommend Pat Bushman who is also on this website. Tell her that FRAN sent you! Her phone number is 713.807.9405.

Good luck!

I doubt that Lone Star Legal Aid will assist you but you can call them too.
