Technically one only "inherits" property in Texas if the deceased dies without a valid will. So the way to "disinherit" a person is to create a valid will and leave them out of the will, you may even mention that person and the fact that you are leaving them nothing.

A person may leave their property to whomever they wish and prevent whomever they wish from receiving their property (with very few exceptions).

Note however that you may not as the parent of an adopted child cutoff that adoptive child's right to inherit from other family members.

You should always consult with an attorney in creating a will or in planning how to leave your property upon death.

Good Luck!
