Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Am I legally bound to give the tax return back to my Exs new wife?

My ex husband owes me thousands in back support. This year for their taxes, they filed an injured spouse claim, and they were told they would recieve $1200, for that claim, and his normal tax refund which was about $200. THen the IRS told them the money would be coming to me, to pay his arrearage. Both the $1200 and the $200. The new wife is pressuring me to give back the $1200, saying that it shouldnt have come to me. Am I legally obligated to give it back to them? If I keep it, will I face legal action?

I don't think I understand your question.

If you are to receive child support, then you got some money. It is yours to keep.

If you are to pay the child support owed, then you need to pay the money. The father owes money to support his child(ren).

Call me if you have any questions.

Good luck!
