Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Legally married?

My dad married a woman in 1999 in NV (they lived in Texas). He was still married to my mom at the time. My father divorced my mom in CA in 2001. He married the woman again in NV in 2002. She however used my dads last name as her last name when they married for the 2nd time. Are they legally married?

I only practice law in Texas so I cannot address the law in CA or Nevada.

When his marriage to your mom ended, then his 2nd marriage became valid.

California and Nevada might have different laws.

If a marriage in valid in one state, then the other states consider it valid.
