ex lied on fake police report - now has my dog

One week ago, after an arguement, my now exgfriend broke up w me and kicked me out. In the police report she filed, she stated that I said something mean to her then she hit me and i left before the police showed up(police were called 4 hr later and she had a black eye by then)She said in the report that i never hit her saying maybe it happened when we ''wrestled''. I'm 6'5'' 240 lbs - she is 100lbs. The only thing i did was deflect - never made contact. She has a history of this w me and after talking to her exhusband, w him too. Right now I have pending charges and im scared to death. Now she had my lab dog that ive had since a puppy and i cant even go near the house. I already tried a civil stanby but she said no to the dog and thats that. I dont have money for an attorney but she is wealthy and has resources...someone please advise. thank you.

If you cannot hire a lawyer for the criminal assault charge, you can ask the court to appoint an attorney for you. To recover your dog, you will either have to hire a lawyer or represent yourself. If you are facing an assault FV case, you may need to rethink your position -- you need to hire a lawyer.
