I live in dallas texas , and I'm a single parent I wanted to know if I need to hire a lawyer in order

the father of my child sign his rights away?

Yes. A parent is not allowed to 'just sign his rights away'. A judge will permit a termination of parental rights only in very specific circumstances - and you have to meet very specific criteria. Consult with an attorney in Dallas to see what options are available to you.
