Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I live in harris county texas, i have been paying child support for 12 years. my child is now 16. i have not seen or talked to her in 3 years i have no adress or phone number to get in contact with her. she has quit school, has a boyfriend living with her and is pregnant. if i were to take her back to court could i have my child support suspended or would i just be wasting my money?

You need to sit down with an experienced family law attorney and review the current DECREE in effect.
If hse marries, then she is "emancipated" and you no longer owe child support.
You owe the mother the money, not the child.
In Harris County, I highly recommend PATRICIA BUSHMAN at 713-807-9405. Tell Jessica in her office that FRAN sent you.
If you just want to discuss your options, I need to see a cert. copy of your decree. I charge $1 per minute to do so.
Visitation and child support are separate issues. Just because you have not seen the child does not mean that you no longer owe child support. However, your attorney may be able to find some other reasons why the child support should be changed. It all depends on the facts.
