The mechanism for forcing a 17-year-old to come back home is difficult. You can, of course, report her as a runaway, and see if the police will help you.

The real problem is that Texas law treats a 17-year-old almost exactly like a 3-year-old as far as rights of the child and rights (and duties) of the parents. This doesn't work because a 3-year-old doesn't have a driver's license and doesn't shave her legs.

As for being "responsible" for her, you aren't going to answer for any crimes she commits or any torts she commits (absent some unusual circumstances).

My advice is that you try not to get angry about the situation. In a few years, she'll probably see that she was wrong, and will want to mend the relationship; you should try to leave the door open to that. You do want to be invited to her first wedding, and the birth of your first grandchild.
