Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I live in Texas and I'm the noncustodial parent to a 10 year old boy. His mother on several ocassions has not allowed me to pick up my son on my specified days. I have had to call PD and file a report. Officers say that there is nothing that they are able to do to enforce the court orders. I have pointed out that they orders state that not complying with them are grounds for contempt of court charges being filed. I am wondering, how does one go about getting the orders enforced and charges filed? How does one request that a social study be conducted? When a child reaches the age of 12, how does one go about asking to live with the other parent? Thanks for your time and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If she refuses to surrender the child when you show up (at your appointed time - not two hours late!), you can sue her for contempt and ask that she be put in jail.

When the police say they can't do anything to enforce the court order, that's a lie. They CAN assist you in getting the child; they just don't want to get involved. The police in many cities DO help enforce child visitation orders.

File a motion for contempt, set a hearing, and ask the Judge to enforce the visitation order.
