living together

My boyfriend and I have lived together for one year in Texas. He signed for a car so I could drive but I have been making the payments for a year. can he legally take the car from me or can I prove that I have made the payments and do I have any legal way of keeping it.

Ownership to vehicles is generally established by the name on the title. The original title is now held by the lien holder, but if your name is not anywhere on the title, you have something to woory about. He could sign a power of attorney for you if he was willing to do so. If not, your best hope is to claim a common law marriage if you are able to satisfy the elements.
