Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I was living with my Fiance' and we have a 2 1/2 year old daughter together. Due to his drinking , i moved 4 hours away to be with my family and I took our daughter with me. He was fully aware of the move, and understood why we were leaving. We currently live in Texas, however I was debating moving out of state, in the future, as just a thought. I sort of mentioned it to him, and said that if i did then i would definately let him know so that we could plan it to where he could see her whenever was easiest. He told me that he could have it "court ordered" to make me stay in texas and not leave with our daughter. is this possible? we never got married, so there is no divorce involved. we just split. Thank you.

Yes, it is common for a judge to order a geographic restriction in an order of paternity and custody.
