Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

how long can a divorce carry on?

i filed for divorce in sept 06 and the only thing that i have is temporary orders. we have sent several property settlement offers to my husbands attorney but he does not want to come to an agreement. (does not want me to walk away with any money) i am giving him his business and all his ''toys'' the only thing i am asking is that our house be appraised and give me half the equity by refinancing to get it out of my name. everything we have sent to them has gone unanswered completely. at what point can i petition the court of his uncooperativeness and have it ordered sold? can this drag out forever or what can i do to force things along? any suggestions are appreciated.

Pay your lawyer a trial retainer, and ask him/her to set it for trial. The court will probably order mediation.
