Your child has to have lived in Texas for 6 months before you can file a suit in Texas and have much chance of success. Once you've lived here any amount of time, you can still file suit in whichever state last issued an order concerning your child. If that's not clear, then please repost your question with some added facts. Like "My child lives in OK with his mom. I moved to TX and want to get custody of my child. There is an OK child support order in effect. How do I get the child to TX?" Or whatever your facts are.

Good luck!!
