Let your lawyer worry about getting the guy served.

Sometimes service can be accomplished 24 hours after the writ is issued; sometimes you never get service.

And if phone calls to your attorney don't work, stop calling his office. Write him a letter: "Dear Lawyer, has my ex been served yet? Love, Client." It costs you 44 cents. Keep a copy of the letter.

If a person hasn't been served, but shows up at the hearing anyway, then service isn't necessary.
