Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
M ex boyfriend, Robert. Never married. Showed back up in our life when our daughter was five years old. She is now almost 12. He has tried to be a dedicated parent, but has had two major drug slip ups. One of which was in his custodial custody. He is clean right now, and has recently married, but my daughter greatly dislikes her life in their home, and feels ostrizied, and very unhappy. My ex and I have no legal documentation, other than getting his name put on her birth certificate 5 years ago. He does pay child support. My daughter is miserable! Is there anything legally that I can do. I am also quite confident that he is not paying us the state mandated 20% of his income in child support. Is this worth going to court over? Or do I try to make her tough it out for the next 6 yrs?

I suggest that you contact the Attorney General and ask them to do a paternity suit for you. I believe it's worth it.
