Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

He is making my life a living HELL.

My ex-fiance is the father of my son(6). We've been seperated for the past 2yrs.I'm the custodial parent of our son,I don't have a problem with his court ordered visits with his son, but I do have a problem with him calling questioning my son,his school & daycare, my family & job, and anyone else he feels can give him information on me. He drives pass mine and my boyfriend's apartments & jobs. He hired a top lawyer to represent him in our child support hearing, since I couldn't afford a lawyer any where close to his,he got everything exactly the way he wanted it. He holds his money over my head like a ring of terror, and threatens to take our son from me. He treats me like he owns me, he spits on me, kicks my car, steals my house keys, calls me horrible names in front of our son, any thing to he can to hurt me. But portrays himself as the victim to others. I've called the police on him several times,in one case the detective said he fits the profile of a killer I should be very careful. What can I do? He is making my life a living HELL. I fear for my life and the life of my son from this man.

Re: He is making my life a living HELL.

I've heard your story many times and you do need to be very, very careful.

You also need to document everything to prove that you are telling the truth.

You should never be alone with him. Always take a third party to be a witness. You need a person that will be willing to come to court and testify.

Have you gone and tried to get a protective order against him.

If you are successful, then you can modify your last court order regarding the minor child and make sure that you never need to ever come into contact with him again.

You need to keep a notebook detailing everything (and I mean everything - good and bad) that happens.

If money is an issue, contact the free legal services provider in your area. You can call the State Bar of Texas for leads. They have a website and perhaps they can get you on the right path. I'm not sure but it might be www.sbot.org

Go to a search engine and type in State Bar of Texas. They are located in Austin, Texas.

Often major cities offer a discount lawyer referral service where you can meet with an attorney for an hour for less than $100.

Good luck!

I don't think you live in the Houston area.

If you do, please give me a call at 713-847-6000 to discuss in greater detail.
